History

The origins of Dobson, Berns & Rich can be traced back to the late 1950s. Although the firm’s initial practice areas included general business law, constitutional law, and real estate, the firm’s primary emphasis was on labor law. With the level of union participation in the United States at its peak, a significant portion of the firm’s practice involved representing labor unions in labor-management relations.

In the early 1980s, the firm added workers’ compensation and personal injury to its areas of practice. The firm also discontinued its general business law practice and began to focus on the areas of employment discrimination and civil rights. Throughout the 1990s, with the decline in union participation and the enactment and amendment of laws designed to protect individual employee rights, the firm gradually expanded its practice in the areas of employment discrimination and civil rights, as well as employment law in general.

Today, our five attorneys continue the firm’s tradition of providing experienced legal representation in the areas of employment law, workers’ compensation, and personal injury.
